On Tuesday June 19th Cornwall's Federation League Team, Tony Backhouse(hcp 7), Stephen Read(12), David Edwards(9) & Des Honey(12), welcomed the Exeter Team, Adam Wimshurst(2.5), Scilla Blackwell(16), John Patterson(14) & Roger Thorn(8), to the Cornwall Club at Porthpean.
Weather conditions were ideal, a beautiful summers day( a rare occurrence this year). The mornings play was 2 singles which Cornwall won 26 : 20 & 20 : 16(on time), unfortunately the doubles was a bit of a disaster Cornwall going down 8 : 26. By lunch Cornwall were 2 games to 1 up.
The afternoons play of 4 singles were of mixed fortunes. 2 good wins 26 - 12 & 26 - 8 & 2 narrow losses 22 - 25 (on time) & 19 - 20 (on time).
This was followed by the traditional after match tea enjoyed outside in the late afternoon sun.P
