8 members of Cornwall's Porthpean Golf Croquet Team (Lynda Everett, Linda Lang, Russell Moore, Graham Clark, Kathleen Moorshead,Kathryn Smith & Annie Le Ferve), welcomed Budleigh Salterton's Team of 7 (Tom Pyne, Pat Meredith, Ivor Meredith, Michael Peters, Alan Rush, Ann Walters & Rob Weeks) to play a Southwest Federation Golf Croquet League Match.
The weather was cold but dry. The teams were very evenly matched & by lunch time it was 6 all.
The afternoons play of singles continued in the same way, but the doubles games proved to be a nail biting experience. Lynda Everett & Graham Clark drawing with Pat & Ivor Meredith 4 all on time. Annie Le Ferve & Russell Moore beat Michael Peters & Ann Walters 7 - 3.
Unfortunately Porthpean lost the last two doubles games & Budleigh won the match by 1 point.
