Cornish Croquet Player wins Silver Award at Southwick
Sun 17 Aug 2008

Helston area resident, and member of the Porthpean-based Cornwall Croquet Club, Paul Schofield played in the Sussex County (Southwick) Croquet Club's August Tournament - a four-day event (Thu 14 - Sun 17 Aug 2008).

On Sunday during his final match he achieved a single break of twelve hoops without the use of bisques (handicap turns) and won the game.

In recognition of this Paul has been awarded the Croquet Association's National Merit Silver Award.

Croquet is often referred to as 'Snooker on Grass' and with that analogy his feat may be compared to a Snooker break of over 100.

Well done from all of us Paul.
