NEW HOME FOR THE CA OFFICE

Council has decided that the office should be relocated to Cheltenham, where construction of a new building will commence shortly. It is hoped that the building will be completed by early August, and clubs will be notified as soon as a date for the move has been decided

GOLF CROQUET

Details of three Golf Croquet Championships sponsored by the CA are given in separate posters. New this year is the total of £1000 prize money at the Open Championships to be held at Budleigh Salterton in June. For those whose aspirations may not be quite so high the CA Golf Croquet Championships and the All England Handicap provide excellent opportunities for players of all levels to test their competitive skills.

The Golf Croquet Committee is keen to see widespread use of the automatic handicapping system, and you are reminded that handicap cards may be obtained from the office. Details of how the system operates were sent to clubs last year and can be replaced if they have disappeared into a black hole.

ASSOCIATION CROQUET HANDICAPS

For those clubs who play on lawns which are less than full size the Handicap Committee has produced a table showing how bisque allowances should be reduced.

It has also been observed that the schedule of bisque allowances shown in the new blue Laws Book for shortened games differs from its predecessor in the red Laws Book. The earlier version is in fact the correct one, and the blue book will be corrected when it is next reprinted. The errors are all in the 18 point game column: 10 1/2 should convert to 7½ (not 7), 11¼ to 8 (not 7½), 14 to 9½ (not 10), and 20 to 14 (not 14½).
